Objectives: by the end of the Festival, hospitality interns should be able to

  • Plan (including budget) for meals and refreshments for team and artists

  • Collaborate with Culinary Artist-in-Residence to plan, prepare, and present curated receptions

  • Assist in planning the arrangement and use of reception space

Duties: during the course of the Festival, interns will

  • Plan, order/prepare, present daily team lunches

  • Ensure sanitary kitchen and food serving area

  • Collaborate with Artist Liaison intern to supply green room with refreshments

  • Collaborate with Operations interns for food transportation

  • Assist in design, set-up, clean up and tear down of reception spaces

  • Serve food and beverages during receptions to guests in a professional manner

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  the ideal intern candidate possesses

  • Knowledge of food safety standards

  • Knowledge of food preparation, presentation and knife skills (for interns working closely with Culinary Artist-in-Residence)

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage several tasks at once and work safely under time constraints

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 10-15 lbs

Desired majors: Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Consumer Sciences
