Melinda Lee Masur
Lauded for her “impeccable technique and artistic interpretation” [The Columbian], pianist Melinda Lee Masur has performed on all three stages of Carnegie Hall, at London's Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room, the Berliner Philharmonie, at the Ravinia Festival, Festival Les Muséiques Basel and in Boston’s Symphony Hall. An avid chamber musician, Masur has performed with such artists as Augustin Hadelich, Alban Gerhardt, Fanny Clamagirand, Adrian Brendel and Thomas Quasthoff. She is pianist and founding member of The Lee Trio, praised worldwide for its “gripping immediacy and freshness” and "rich palette of tone colours" [The Strad]. The Trio has given world, American and European premieres of piano trios by composers including Uljas Pulkkis, Nathaniel Stookey, Philip Lasser, Jane Antonia Cornish, Laurence Rosenthal & Sylvie Bodorova and garnered awards such as the Recording Prize at the Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition in Finland and the Gotthard-Schierse-Stiftung grant in Berlin. A graduate of Harvard University and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, Germany, she serves on the chamber music faculty at Boston University and is the Director of Piano Chamber Music at the BU Tanglewood Institute.

Conductor and Grammy-nominated producer Ken-David Masur has been hailed as “fearless” [San Diego Union Tribune] and “a brilliant and commanding conductor” [Leipziger Volkszeitung]. He currently serves as the Associate Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Munich Symphony. In the 17/18 season he has made successful debuts with the Milwaukee Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Berkeley Symphony and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. Upcoming debuts include orchestras such as the Detroit Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony, which he will conduct in two programs at Ravinia this summer. In the 18/19 season he will return to the National Philharmonic of Russia, the Stavanger Symphony and the Collegium Musicum Basel. Masur has further conducted the Los Angeles, Dresden, Israel, and Japan Philharmonics, the Orchestre National de Toulouse, the Hiroshima, Omaha, San Diego, San Antonio and Memphis Symphonies as well as the Orchestre National de France in Paris. Ken-David Masur was educated at the Leipzig Conservatory, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Children‘s Chorus, the Detmold Academy, the “Hanns Eisler” Conservatory in Berlin and Columbia University, where he served as first Music Director of the Bach Society Orchestra and Chorus from 1999-2002.
