From June 15th-23rd of 2012, the Chelsea Music Festival celebrated its third annual summer season with the theme—

France and Japan

Bringing together world-class musicians and exciting newcomers to the international stage, CMF 2012 was a multi-dimensional exploration of the interplay of music, the visual arts and inventive culinary expression. The Festival invited artists and audiences of all ages to experience music in established as well as unconventional settings, exploring the dynamism among art forms, genres and cultures, and reflecting the encounter of tradition with the contemporary.

Jazz took center stage for the Festival Finale at Eyebeam, where the Adam Birnbaum Trio re-imagined some of Debussy’s most well-known tunes in original jazz arrangements. Many special guest appearances included saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh and a Festival favorite, percussionist Rogerio Boccato.
