4:30pm— Walking Tour III | Master of Transformation at Washington Mews
5:00pm— Festival Talks III | Variation, Improvisation & Poetry
Join us for an afternoon guided tour by art historian Virginia Budny as we explore the Festival theme of Transformation
Get an insider's view of this little-known Greenwich Village gem, Deutsches Haus at NYU. Walking through this courtyard feels like a journey back in time, as a gorgeously preserved site to promote German culture and a slower rhythm of NYC living. Enjoy listening to chorales and learning about this amazing corner of New York.
FESTIVAL TALKS III | Variation, Improvisation & Poetry
Following the walking tour, this evening features our final Festival Talks Panel on Variation, Improvisation & Poetry including jazz pianist Helen Sung, poet Dana Gioia, & curator Regula Rüegg led by Artistic Directors Melinda Lee Masur & Ken-David Masur. After the tour, stick around for a light reception and a Deutsches Haus Art Exhibition.
We are thrilled to once again include a Festival-themed art exhibition curated by Deutsches Haus Instructor Regula Rüegg. This year, Rüegg has curated an exhibition around the themes of Adoration, Variation, & Transformation— bringing together artists working in a wide range of mediums. Participating artists include Terry Berkowitz, Claire Gilliam, Jeannine Guidi, Kay Hines, Regula Rüegg, Silvelin von Scanzoni, Ursula Scherrer & Sokhi Wagner.
